As a child, I used to sit in our basement with my Dad and make musket balls. I loved firing the musket. Though it knocked me on my butt the first time because dear Big Brother packed 3 times the amount of powder Dad told him to load for me. I didn’t drop the musket, mind you!! Nowadays my Dad would probably be in jail for “child endangerment”. Hell, we had an armory of ‘antique firearms’ in our house ~ on the walls, in every closet and practically in every corner. Baby Girl Soldier is going to inherit a real nice collection, as long as she doesn’t live in New York.

I always love your forthrightness - “No They Don’t” - you are so correct!!!
If anyone is stuck between a rock and a hardplace on antique firearms (ready to have them confiscated) - give them to a history museum. At least they will ’survive.’

FG ~ If we get between a rock and hardplace, those foolish folks thinking to confiscate them are going to be looking down a long barrel. Or two. Depends on what’s close at hand.
Seriously, there are some pieces that we would consider giving to a museum, if it came down to it.
But then if that comes to pass, we’ll be wearing burkas and praying 5 times a day anyway because the libs won and there is no longer a US of A.

I just knew someone moving to a state for a couple of years where his collection was going to be a problem, so he “loaned” it to a museum long term until he moved back to ‘civilization’ - just thought it was something to keep in the back of your mind!!!

That’s an excellent idea, really. There are several wonderful museums in MA. All my Dad’s collection is with my brother - I didn’t want to take a chance in CA! lol There, you just never knew who was going to outlaw what next. Of course the murder rate didn’t go down.
