A Tragedy In Arizona ~

Author: yankeemom  //  Category: You're Kidding

The shooting of Rep Gabby Gifford and other innocent bystanders, including a child, by the insane and downright evil Jared Lee Loughner, has now become a political arrow from the progressive media and bloggers aimed at the right, ie, the tea party and people who believe in conservative values.  Apparently to these people, who have proven time and time again that they despise America and all it stands for, it’s Constitution, it’s flag, it’s Military and the Republican Party, the blame for Loughner’s despicable act of violence rests squarely on the shoulders of those on the right.  Fox News, Limbaugh, Beck, O’Reilly, Palin and all those “Tea Baggers”, with all their “violent rhetoric” and extreme right hate-filled speeches are accomplices in this awful, awful tragedy.  (Have you ever listened to Air America? Or read diaries at Daily Kos)

From the New York Times:

” Bloodshed Puts New Focus on Vitriol in Politics,”

“Let no crisis go to waste.”

As Arizona Shooting Story Unfolds, Media Already Blaming Tea Party/Sarah Palin

The Washington Post’s Sandhya Somashekhar immediately attempted to color the story as an example of the “militant rhetoric” of the Tea Party movement and Sarah Palin.

Additionally, within minutes of the attack, hard left-winger Paul Krugman of the New York Times asserted that the reason Giffords was shot was because her seat was not turned over to Republicans. Despite that no political motive was at all known, Krugman immediately asserted that it was the fault of the Tea Party and Sarah Palin.

The extreme website Talking Points Memo also jumped into the blame Palin game by pointing out the Palin PAC target image without mentioning that the DailyKos and the DNC also used the same imagery.

Fonda, a well-known supporter of America’s enemies, wrote: “@SarahPalinUSA holds responsibility. As does the violence-provoking rhetoric of the Tea Party.” Fonda also wrote, “Glen Beck guilty too. Shame. It must stop!”

Read it all here.

Really?!  This is what they get out of this horrible event??

Just how does a 9 year old child fit into that scenario?

Says more about them than anyone else, imo.  And it isn’t looking too good. No, not at all.

I only wish these media talking head “experts” and political figures on both sides of the aisle would give as much energy and airtime to raging against those who plot to set bombs in public places and shoot our Military members here in America, in the name of Allah, instead of extreme-right strawmen.

Our prayers go out to the victims and their families.

  1. ED ELLIS Says:

The whole situation is bad, real bad,I am concerned that there were some spectaters who whle armed tried to return the fire, they hit no one, however, did a “friendly fire”incident occur ?
I certainly hope not,if there is a thourough investigaton, they will be able to tell as to wo wounded who.
That is not the scenerio to be trying to be heroic, especially when they are not trained to be involved with this kind of incidents. I pray that no bystander was wounded by this misguided effort.

  2. Phoenix Says:

    Mr. Ellis,

I must respectfully disagree with your contention regarding the public at the event. Their presence and action’s or inaction’s are irrelevant. What is, is the fact that someone with the legislator’s staff, whoever that may have been, did not provide adequate security for the Congressman (Sorry, no “political correctness” here)despite all that could have been provided with just a word. I hope, if you’ve the time, that you will also go to my blog at:

written from a security operative’s perspective, with a military background. And if there had been an additional bystander (they all were bystander’s at the event frankly) wounded outside of the “kill zone”, considering the lamestream media’s take on Second Amendment Right’s, we would have been buried with those opinion’s. However, blaming the word’s of the author of this blog, my blog, conservative politician’s, talking heads/pundit’s, radio hosts, or television host’s is a ‘Red Herring’ since the shooter doesn’t fit into the narrative of someone those on the left EXPECTED to behave in this violent way. It was one of their own, albeit, on the lunatic fringe, but someone that had book’s in his home like ‘Mein Kamph’ by National Socialist Adolf Hitler, and ‘The Communist Manifesto’. Reading for an anarchist, or worse, would you agree? And as far as Heroism, that is a basic, though not exclusive American trait. Remember 9/11? Remember the passenger’s of the plane that went down in Pennsylvania? Do you remember that inspirational last word’s of one of the passenger’s of that doomed flight? Let me remind you if you’ll indulge me. The short ‘call to action’ was simple but powerful: “Let’s Roll”

Exit question’s: What would you have done in that situation? Fight or flight? Be truly honest with yourself while you ponder that question as you look in the mirror in your home…

A Warrior’s tenet is to die, with Honor on their feet, carried home “on their shield”. The alternative is to die “on your knee’s”. Do you believe one would want to be remembered for that, or that one died trying to save a life?
