“…The Berkeley City Council drew a deluge of criticism after voting two weeks ago to send a letter to a downtown recruiting station advising the Marines they would be considered “uninvited and unwelcome intruders” if they did not move out.

In a session that stretched into the early hours of Wednesday, the council said they recognize recruiters’ right to be in Berkeley. The council reiterated its opposition to the war but said, “We deeply respect and support the men and women in our armed forces.” The reiteration passed with a vote of 7-2.

The council also decided against issuing an apology for the earlier resolution….”

The second video is  hysterical - (in more ways than one!).  I was just waiting to hear “Pigs” being yelled at the cops.  Oh, the indignation!!

“Make love, not war!”  made it.  Of course, this was by the oldtimers.   The kids had “make out, not war” stickers on their butts.  Our educational tax dollars at work!

our activities until the very end, after we screamed blue bloody hell.

When Catherine Moy, the Executive Director of MAF called the police to
tell them a riot was erupting in the early hours –THEY HUNG UP ON HER.
Cat called the Highway Patrol, who referred her back to the Berkeley
police –WHO HUNG UP ON HER.

Ah, yes.  ‘Just doing my job, Ma’am.’
