Muster!!!
There is so much going on this week in the Red, White and Blue Community. Folks are packing their bags and flags, gassing up their transport and traveling miles to get to DC.
Because of IVAW’s Winter Soldier II, Eagles, Patriot Guard Riders, Rolling Thunder, Vets and Patriotic Troop Supporters will be arriving tomorrow. Many will be going to stand at the National Labor College in Silver Spring , MD as the IVAW holds it’s “testimony” to the “atrocities” committed by our troops.
Obiter Dictum is one of the best places for background info on WSII and the participants. Denis has been looking into this for quite awhile now and has uncovered quite a bit of iffy-ness surrounding the whole thing.
Gathering of Eagles and Eagles Up! folks have been threatened by some members of IVAW. Michele Malkin has a post on it here.

Code Pink et al, is ramping up their protest against the Marines in Berkeley by camping out in front of the recruiting station:
Code Pink has a full roster of activities planned for the week, including: yoga every morning at 8:30, organic potlucks every noon; nightly movies and popcorn; a bike ride around Berkeley on Tuesday; an open-mike musical jam on Wednesday; and a “send-off” to the Marines on Friday, when protesters will bring suitcases and pink berets for traveling.
Couldn’t these people be doing something productive, like working or volunteering at a hospital?
Apparently not. They would rather spend their time taking potshots at our military 24/7 and reliving the 60’s.
Well, they’ve had 40 years of running the show but that’s over.
Troop Support Events coming up:
Friday Night at Walter Reed ~ Freepers and Eagles and vets and folks who love the troops will be standing outside the gates of WR (6-9 pm) to let the wounded warriors and their families know they are appreciated!
Saturday all day:
Eagles Up! Muster with speakers starting early am at the Washington Monument on the mall, followed by a march up Constitution Ave around 1 pm. No, there will not be puppets or pink clothed people involved. But there will be a LOT of RED, WHITE and BLUE!!
If you can’t make it, you can watch it on a live stream at Eagles Up! And thanks to A Newt One who will be broadcasting live at Blog Talk Radio, you can keep up with all the activities.
It will start at 1 pm.
Sunday:
Resolve To Win’s Dennis McCool, Carl Heerup, Marc Breslow and Gerry McCool will be ending their march from North Carolina at the Lincoln Memorial. Go to their website to read their blog entries and get to know these fine Veterans. Then come out to greet them on their way and in DC on Sunday!!

Depart Fairfax American Legion Post approx. 0800hrs.
Early AM stop (0945 to1015hrs) - mile 4.8 @ Elks Club on right
Late AM stop (1245 to 1330hrs) - mile 11.7 @ National Guard Armory on right (or Arlington Park on left)
Afternoon Arrival (1500 to 1530hrs) - 16.2 miles - Lincoln Memorial step / west reflecting pool.
I’m heading out Friday morning to hook up with all these wonderful folks who are showing up in DC (on their own dime, mind you) and raise my flag high.

Glad to see you’re going.
I’m very sick of Code Pinks not only hijacking my color, but doing yoga under the guise of peacefulness. Believe me, the language they use as documented by the Berkeley Daily Planet is anything but. Why don’t they just give in and admit they’re the privileged elite thugs that they are?
I think if there are any atrocities committed by our troops, that our own military would catch them. None of us wants to see any atrocities committed, and as evidenced by the trials last year, they were dealt with deftly by our own. The problem I have is this blanket “atrocity” label that groups like IVAW put out there and it gives everyone the wrong impression.

Snooper - definitely we will hook up! I’ll be at WR Friday night and then at the mall bright and early Sat. I’m hanging with the Eagles at Comfort Inn for the weekend.

Very true, Polly. In Santa Cruz, the Vets Memorial building has been taken over by yoga practicing anti-war folks. Ugh!!
