Blogging from DC

I’m here at the hotel waiting for my ride to the Muster.  (The wireless works!!)

Got in around noon yesterday and had lunch with Taco’s Mom and Dad.  (Umm…I’m up for adoption, J & M. Just so you know,)  Wonderful, wonderful folks!

Then I checked in to the hotel and got settled.  A little while later, the Eagles who had spent the day up at the IVAW “hearings” (cough, cough)  started to arrive.  It was just terrific to be able to put faces to the screen names!!  Lots of buzz about their day and the silliness from the left.  Check at GOE and Eagles Up!  for after action reports.

Michele Malkin has a post up, as well as Obiter Dictum with links to the bloggers who were at the “hearings and were “live blogging”.

Apparently, there were a lot of reporters there from all over.  It’ll be interesting to se what, if any, coverage the Eagles get.

Then we all headed up to Walter Reed Hospital to stand with the Freepers who do this every Friday night, rain, snow, wind or not.  Amazing folks!   I had a great time visiting with people I had met at the September 15th rally ~ lots of hugs and laughter all around.  Flags flying high up and down both sides of the street.  The anti-war peeps were their usual humourless and miserable selves.   The contrast between the two groups is striking.  I don’t know how one can keep hanging with people who are so angry and “OMG!”-ish all the time.  Quite wearing.  Whereas, the red, white and blue folks kept getting more and more energized.

We received LOTS of supportive honking and thumbs up from the cars going by.

The police had to step in a time or two to keep things calm down at the pink and gloomy end.  The pinks are so good at saying things that just really are intended to get to a Vet, and then cry for the police when it has it’s desired effect.  Medea herself (dis)graced us with her presence.  What a piece of work that one is.

The pinks, of course, left sharply at 9 pm as they always do.  We stood for another hour and some and waited for the buses to bring our wounded Finest back from their Friday night dinner.  Lots of applause and Hooah-ing for them!!  The smiles we got from soldiers and their families are what it’s all about.

We love you guys!!!!!

The police who were there were especially great.  Thanks!!!

All in all, it was just freakin’ AWESOME!!

There will be photos soon.

Remember, there will be livestreaming of today’s events - go here
