John Amos Lends Support to Rolling Thunder XXI
I will be heading out to DC in a bit to join up with other members of VA Ch 1 to participate in today’s events.
Friday night I was at the Candlelight Vigil at the Wall. This is my first time being part of this yearly event. Needless to say it’s quite emotional. (The Bagpipe player didn’t help with maintaining my composure…) And seeing the Gold Star Mothers proceed down the walkway in front of the Wall dang near took me out.
All those names. So many hands reaching out to touch that special one. We must never forget them.
And we must never forget the ones who haven’t made it home yet. We will bring them home.
Peter Allegretta and the Putnam County Joint Veterans Council dedicate a memorial statue to all Gold Star Mothers.
