A Liberal Supermajority
Get ready for ‘change’ we haven’t seen since 1965, or 1933.
If the current polls hold, Barack Obama will win the White House on November 4 and Democrats will consolidate their Congressional majorities, probably with a filibuster-proof Senate or very close to it. Without the ability to filibuster, the Senate would become like the House, able to pass whatever the majority wants.
Balances and checks? Wave goodbye to that. Remember, this is the party that views our Constitution as a “living” document that can be changed on the latest special interest group’s donation-paying whim. After all, what’s most important is keepin’ the powah!!
Medicare for all? Enter universal government-controlled healthcare and Obama’s pet, Single-Payer.
Just talk to any Veteran that has had to deal with the VA. They’ll be glad to tell you how great that works for them. Or ask a Canadian or Brit why so many of their fellow citizens come here for our healthcare. How long are you willing to wait for tests or surgery? Or how would you feel about being told you aren’t a “good risk” for the government to spend money on a cure for what ails you?

Go here to see the list of hearings held by the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform the past few years. This is what is apparently important to the Committee. (note: nothing is scheduled regarding certain democrats involvement in the subprime mortgage mess or the actions of the government-funded ACORN).
In fact, the ones who benefited the most from this are the ones who will be looking into it. Yep! I’m sure that all will be revealed in due time. *snort*

Sounds all good and cozy, doesn’t it?

Taxes? Hoo-boy! Where else are they going to get all the money for all those wonderful leveling-the-playing-field-making-everything-fair-for-everyone-even-if-they-don’t-do-a-damn-thing programs? How do you feel about working your butt off to make a better living and then giving a lot of your earnings to the government so that they can “spread your wealth around”? “Income redistribution” ~ that’s your income they are talking about. And they will have the say on what’s an “appropriate” profit. How dare you make more than your fair share!

Going Green? So much money (yours) to be made from this. (just ask the Goracle) Drilling for our own oil? Not going to happen. The moratorium will be in place again before you can say “Drill. Here. Now!” Think all those environmental regulations on your business are heavy now…just wait. (All those poor trees cut down for all the government notices and forms coming your way.) Dems love the greenies!! After all, they are some of their biggest campaign donaters. Think the government controlling your thermostat is just too wacky to believe? Heck, that will be the least of the problems.

Your Free Speech and Voting Rights? The Dems would love to legislate all that for you. Fairness Doctrine = controlling who gets to say what and when and where. It’s already clear by the intimidation tactics that the Obama campaign has used to shut down those who disagree with the messiah. Just ask Joe the Plumber. They probably know how much dust is under his bed by now - and how long it’s been there.
“Community Organizers” (read activist groups) setting up ways to control voter registration and same day voting. It’s apparent (from the sounds of deafening silence) that the Dems have no problem with all the tactics that Acorn is using to “get the vote!”. Why should they? Acorn has endorsed their candidate, whose claim to fame is “Community Organizing”. Go figure…
And with a Supreme Court swinging their way - well, who knows what part of the Constitution will be axed next?
So many special interest groups and money…and so little time.
National Security? Only if it doesn’t offend some groups sensibilities.
Immigration - there is no such thing as an Illegal immigrant.
Habeas Corpus - For Everyone!! Especially for those who tried to kill our troops. Sure, bring them on into the country. What the hell. They are just misunderstood oppressed and poor folk.
The right to bear arms? Oh, that will be one of the first to go. If they can’t get our guns, they’ll mess with the ammo.
Oh yeah! Works for me - most certainly not!
