Patriotic Musicians

I received an email the other day about a father and daughter who have a band.

I love that! We have musician friends whose kids decide that they want to learn the guitar or drums and to watch the pride in “Dad’s” or “Mom’s” face as their son or daughter rock out with them is just precious.

Well, this Dad and daughter are not only really good, but they love this country and the ones who defend it!

With all the nonsense coming from so many bands out there about how bad this country is and how our military are just hired killers, it is always so heartening to me when I find out about a band that feels just the opposite. And that’s why I want to share them with you.

They are Michael Darwin and his daughter Sophie. Go here to see photos. Go here to read their story.

Now they have written and produced a song called “I believe in America”.

(I love the lyrics “I’m never going to quit on America”~ HOOAH!)

And that’s not all ~ they also wrote a song for the Soldier fighting the fight and finding his life changed:

As Sandi, Michael’s wife, wrote:

I am trying to get two of our songs heard by those who serve, their families, and their friends to try and give them our support and boost their morale.

The songs are “I Believe in America” and “I’m Alive”, a song about one soldier’s journey to Afghanistan.

P.S. After reading your blog about going up to Walter Reed to visit a Marine I have to tell you that “I’m Alive” is a song for him.

Even if he never hears it, or you don’t like it or any other songs, please give that marine my love and prayers. God bless him.

Please let him know that he is not alone and that he is in many peoples thoughts and prayers, not just mine.

Well, I can only tell you that this email touched me deeply and then when I listened to their music, I knew I had to get this out to as many folks as possible. With so much negativity hitting us from all sides, to find such warm and patriotic folks is a blessing!
