A Reminder ~

The Elites are now regurgitating the “no support” for our troops in Afghanistan.

Pelosi has just said, “I don’t think there’s a great deal of support for sending more troops to Afghanistan, in the country or in the Congress.” (Insert curse word here.)

Levin said,  “I just think we should hold off on a commitment to send more combat troops until these additional steps to strengthen the Afghan security forces are put in motion.” (Same as above)

And so it begins…again.

But having just passed the 8 year anniversary of 9/11, It is hard for me to stomach these words. Nothing sticks to these people but their own power grabbing righteousness.  Day of Service, my a$$.

Actually though, to be completely honest, I have to admit that I have my moments of “bring them home!” myself.  But not because I don’t believe in victory or that our guys can kick butt and get this done.  Oh no.  Not at all!

My moments come from the intense anger at all the politically correct BS that is so prevalent in the handling of this war.  If our troops aren’t allowed to do the job they trained for ~ like shooting the enemy but…only if they are shot at first (WTF!)~ then what’s the use of their being there?  If they are put in prison for doing their job and doing it too well for some, then bring them home.   The lawyers and ACLU and the anti-war politicians’ appeasement and PC agendas are just going to get more troops killed.  And they won’t lose a minute of sleep over that.  Nope, not a one minute - after all, they’ve done it before and they have such a righteous cause, you know.  What’s one more dead soldier to them?  Just as long as the poor “abused and tortured” detainees can question their detention and get handed the “get out of jail free” card, that’s all that matters, right?

God, I hate these people.  (Yes, I know.  You and I are going to have a long talk about that eventually, aren’t we…?)

I know that our troops will do their job over there, as they always do.  And I want them to come home only in victory, as they should.  All safe and sound, however that may be.  And I know some won’t.  I also know that they know that too.  And yet, they still go out and do the job so many won’t or can’t do.  I will cheer them on until they don’t need me too anymore.  I will applaud every win and mourn every loss.  I will never, ever give up on them.  EVER!

But dammit!!!   Let them do their mission without their hands tied behind their backs!!!  And never, ever call them “cold-blooded murderers” for doing so!!  (Yes, Murtha, you still owe those Marines and their families and every other service branch members and their families an apology.)

Here is what set me off.  Please read it all.  I wish I had written it myself.

The Flip Side of Glory: The Other Victims of 9/11/01

We are about to honor the victims of September 11, 2001 on the eight year anniversary of the slaughter of the innocents, perpetrated by men whose religion promises them 72 vestal virgins, if they murder non-believers. But enough of the murderers, still labeled “Terrorists” and their handiwork aptly described as “Terrorism,” in my book.

On September 11, 2009, my focus will be on the murdered ones, the ones who lost limbs, and the ones who lost their liberty. I am hoping to join my fellow citizens in a period of reflection and respect for those who were murdered. The significance of their loss will not be downplayed in my little corner of the globe. The word is out that the president wants to “transform” this day of reverence into a day of “service.” One of his czars is speaking of “greening up America and cleaning up America.” Huh? Is there a rush on to “out-serve” McDonalds?
